Application Deadlines
Fullerton College
offers rolling admissions and invites students to submit applications
throughout the school year. Students will be notified of the admissions
decision within 2 weeks of submitting a complete application.
*NURSING & COSMETOLOGY
MAJORS- Please be aware, we do not accept nursing or cosmetology
majors. According to NOCCCD policy, "F-1 students will not be accepted
for admission into any program where applications by qualified United
States citizens exceed spaces available" (AP 5012 1.3).
*PARALEGAL MAJORS- There
are 2 options for this major: an Associate
Degree or a Certificate (no general education requirements
needed) in Paralegal Studies. If
you choose the Certificate you
must possess
an Associate Degree or a Bachelor's or
higher degree from a regionally-accredited college.
No foreign degrees allowed. All
students with an Associate Degree from
another American college must have their transcripts
evaluated by Fullerton College.
A student may work on the Associate Degree
here and then pursue the Certificate
in Paralegal Studies thereafter.
Depending on the country from which the student is
applying, F1 visa application processing time varies. Students should
consult their local
United States Consulate/Embassy
and plan accordingly.
In accordance with US Immigration regulations,
F1 visa students must be issued a transfer I-20 or leave country within
the 60-day grace period after the
last term completed.

Non-F1 visa holders
currently in the US, seeking change of status
Those individuals who would like to become a full-time student and
change their non-immigrant status to F1, should contact the
International Student Center Director for immigration advising.
Change of status applications must be submitted BEFORE the expiration of
previous non-immigrant status, as indicated on the I-94 card. Therefore,
applications for admissions should be submitted at least one month
before expiration.
Individuals who have entered the US on a visa waiver may not apply for a
change of non-immigrant status while in the US.

Part-time Students
F-1 students enrolled full time and
considered in good status at another SEVIS-approved institution are
permitted to enroll part time in two classes, with a unit limit
established by each college.
Part-time F-1 students must complete
appropriate paperwork and pay all appropriate fees. See
Part-time Admissions for more information and application forms.
Admissions
Requirements for Full-time F1 Students
After completion of
the listed requirements, the applicant will be
considered for admission
and will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance by mail. When
accepted, the applicant will be sent an acceptance letter, orientation
materials, intent to register form, and a Form I-20.

Admissions requirements
are based on North Orange County Community College District Policy,
AP
5012 International Students.

Applicants must
demonstrate English proficiency by fulfilling one of the following
assessment criteria:
-
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
Minimum score of 500 (written) and 173 (computer-based)
or 61 (internet-based)
required. Information regarding the TOEFL test and testing centers in
your area can be found at
www.toefl.org. Use code #4314 to
submit TOEFL
score reports to Fullerton College.

Fullerton College
ESL Placement Test
scores, available only to students currently in the United States.

STEP Test with a
minimum score of level Pre-1
will be accepted from Japanese applicants.
Official
score reports must be sent directly to Fullerton College from
STEP.
If an applicant does
not meet the English proficiency requirement, he/she may consider
alternatives options of Conditional Admission
and Part-time Enrollment.

Applicants must have earned the equivalent of an
American high school diploma, or have attended 12 years of elementary and secondary school,
or be at least 18 years of age.

Applicants must submit original or certified copies
of transcripts of any secondary and/or post-secondary coursework, as determined by each college. Foreign-language transcripts must be accompanied by certified English translations.

Applicants must provide evidence of financial
responsibility.
Certification of Parent, Self, or Sponsor support required. Official
bank statements must be translated into English and represent American
currency.

F-1 applicants who are attending other United States
schools or colleges may be considered for admission provided the applicant meets the
international admissions requirements and is in good status with United
States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

F-1 students will not be accepted for admission into
any program where applications by qualified United States citizens
exceed spaces available.
Attending on an F-1 Student Visa
A limited number of international students may be admitted to Fullerton
College. The goal of the program is to provide educational opportunities
for the international students and to promote international understanding
on campus and in the community. Administrative Policies for International
Students are as follows:

F-1 visa students will
be held to the same scholastic requirements and to the same college
rules and regulations as other students.

Students issued an I-20 and attend the college are
required to comply with US Federal Code, Department of Homeland Security
(DHS), and Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) regulations that
pertain to F-1 visa students. Review
Code of Federal
Regulations, Title 8 CFR Part 22 Section 214.2(f).

F-1 students are required to pay non-resident tuition
fees, non-United States fees, enrollment fees and other fees required,
as established by the Board of Trustees. Any student who can demonstrate
economic hardship or who is a victim of persecution or discrimination in
the country in which the student is a citizen and resident is exempt
from the non-United States resident fee tuition. See

F-1 students must purchase
health insurance. Such insurance should include major medical
coverage to protect the student against financial catastrophe. Insurance
policies must meet the minimum criteria.
F-2 Visa Holders
In accordance with US Federal
Code, the spouse and minor children accompanying an F-1 student are
eligible for admission in F-2 visa status. The F-2 spouse or F-2 child
may not engage in full-time study and the F-2 spouse and F-2 child may
only engage in studies that are avocational or recreational in nature.
