In order to change your status to F-1 student status, you must first follow the admission requirements as an international student.
Once your application is complete, you will be able to apply to change your non immigrant status process with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Please be aware that USCIS can take several months to adjudicate the change of status application. Even after your F-1 student status is approved, you must apply for a F-1 Visa outside the US if you travel outside the US and intend to re-enter.
If you are seeking change of status advising, please bring your passport, visa, and I-94 with you.
After speaking with an ISC advisor, you have the option of changing your status through the ISC office or through a lawyer of your choice. Keep in mind, the ISC will charge a $200 consulting fee for our services.
B1, B2, J1, and F2 visa holders must wait for approval before they can enroll in courses.
