resources
The ISC has compiled several
resources for topics that are important to international students. Whether
you are a prospective student or a current student, the resources should
provide helpful information. Click on one of the links below to find more
information on a specific topic.
Housing
Although Fullerton College does not
guarantee housing to international students, the International Student
Center can provide a variety of resources to students looking for short-term
and long-term accommodations, as well as roommates,
apartments, homestays, and dorms.
Transportation
& International Travel
The Southern California and Orange County
areas are serviced by a variety of public transportation, including
buses, commuter trains, and light-rail. In comparison to other countries,
America's public transportation systems can feel limited. The Fullerton Transportation Center is located within walking distance from the
college which can greatly increase students' mobility.
Also includes important information and
procedures when traveling outside the U.S.
Taxes
Foreign students on the F-1 visa have special filing requirements for U.S. federal income tax
returns. Please read the following information in regards to filing your
taxes. Taxes are due April 15th!
Scholarships
Fullerton College does not at this time offer financial aid to foreign
students. We have however collected several scholarship resources for
our students that you may find helpful.
There is a
book called "Scholarships for Study in the USA and Canada" that you can
look at in a local bookstore, library, or here at the International
Student Center.
Also, check out the
"Paying for College Student Resource Guide".
IFC World Citizen Award
The International Friendship Council (IFC)
is an organization that reaches out to international students by
offering friendships with Americans. These friendships develop through
involvement with events and activities that enable the students to adapt
more easily to American culture.
The World Citizen Award recognizes a graduating student from Fullerton
College who has demonstrated involvement in contributing to
international understanding. A certificate and $100 will be presented to
the student selected for this award during the ISC's End of Year
Achievement Awards ceremony held at Fullerton College in May.
